In case you are wondering...

We are not feeling any effects of the volcano eruption in Iceland. Our skies are clear. All our travel (until flight back to Philly) will be by bus, car, and ferry so all is going according to plan for our Group Study Exchange Team.

And if you are wondering about the economic crisis, people here are talking about it at cafes and on the radio, but we haven't felt any impact. None of our plans have been cancelled and we are really eating well (as mentioned before) and staying in nice places.

  1. Hi Lisa from Mom,

So glad you mentioned the volcano. Well thought you might be interested in the "news" about it.
It has caused all flights to and from Europe to be grounded. What a sight to see the airports with planes sitting there. It has affected so many things and events. None of the foreign leaders could make the funeral of the Polish dignataries held today. Many Broadway concerts have been cancelled. Runners not able to get in for Boston Marathon. Kids on Easter break stranded in Europe. Oh,and the poor Father not able to attend the son's wedding in London.
This is causing airlines to lose 200 million dollars a day. YIKES!

Know this won't affect you but thought you might like to hear all the gorey details since you don't get coverage like we do.

This should not affect you so keep on having a great time and we wish you all well. Love ya

  2. Even here in the US I made sure I watched some funeral coverage on CNN online. My mother and I went to Mass in Port Richmond Friday to commemorate those lost. - Leo
